Our Secretary Says

Wow! One quarter of the year is gone already. Seems to be going by too fast. As for me, this secretary stuff is more challenging than I thought. Trying to take notes at the board meetings, then trying to decipher my notes is something else. Hopefully, everyone understands what we are doing for the association.

Hats off again to the schools committee. They have the civil school ready to go, and already working on winter school. Contracts with the different motels are due again, and they are putting the final touches on those contracts. Also I hope you have been watching the emails on what the Legislative Committee has been doing. They have been very busy at Capitol Hill. Looks like to me with their hard work, the association will come out ok this session. We may fall short on the changes we wanted to the Sex Offender Residence Restriction, but it’s still an on going battle.

The board has recently gone in a new direction with the Gold Star Magazine. Creating a web site, and new ways to try and promote our association. These projects are also on going. I would encourage anyone with ideas to contact a board member.

Now summer is coming up, and everyone will be busy. I am sure like everyone else, our office and its activities pick up, and then there’s that dreaded scheduling with vacations. Will be real interesting with us as we will be short two deputies that have been called to active duty. When you only have nine deputies to start, it puts a strain on everyone. Oh well, we will get through it. We pray for their safe return.
